APPROXIMATING MEASURES INVARIANT UNDER
PIECEWISE CONVEX TRANSFORMATIONS

Abstract.Let $S:[0,1]\longrightarrow [0,1]$ be a piecewise convex transformation satisfying some conditions which guarantee the existence of an absolutely continuous invariant probability measure. In this paper, the first order Markov finite approximation method is used for computing the invariant measure, using some compactness argument for $L^1$-spaces.
