FLOW OF AN UNSTEADY DUSTY FLUID THROUGH
POROUS MEDIA IN A UNIFORM PIPE WITH
SECTOR OF A CIRCLE AS CROSS-SECTION

Abstract. This investigation deals with study of geometry of the unsteady motion of a dusty fluid through porous media in a uniform pipe with sector of a circle as cross-section. It is assumed that the fluid and the dust particle clouds are static at the beginning. The flow is due to the influence of time dependent pressure gradient. The analytical solutions are obtained by solving the partial differential equations using variable seperable and Laplace transform methods. Further the effects of porosity parameter, number density of the particles and time on the components of velocity of both fluid and dust particles are studied with the aid of graphs. Finally, the expressions for skin-friction are obtained at the boundaries.
