DICHOTOMY AND WELL-CONDITIONING OF DISCRETE MATRIX SYLVESTER SYSTEMS
Abstract
Dichotomy and conditioning of boundary value problems associatedwith difference equations is an interesting area of research and several papers appearedin that direction. These results can be used in the analysis of algorithms, in devisingnumerical schemes for solutions. We propose to study the dichotomy and conditioningfor two-point boundary value problems associated with Sylvester discrete dynamicalsystems, with the help of Kronecker product of matrices. We establish a relationshipbetween the stability bounds of the problem and the growth behavior of the fundamen-tal matrix solution.
