GALERKIN-FINITE ELEMENT METHOD FOR
THE NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF
ADVECTION-DIFFUSION EQUATION

Abstract. In this article, Galerkin-finite element method is proposed to find the numerical solutions of advection-diffusion equation. The equation is generally used to describe mass, heat, energy, velocity, vorticity etc. As test problem, three different solutions of advection-diffusion equation are chosen. Maximum errors norm $L_{\infty}$ are calculated and found that the errors are small and negligible.
