WATER TABLE FLUCTUATIONS DUE TO TIME VARYING RECHARGE IN A 1-D FLOW SYSTEM FROM RECHARGE BASIN

Abstract


The numerical solution of a 1-D linearized Boussinesq's equation is presented to predict the water table fluctuations in an unconfined aquifer due to time varying recharge from recharge (rectangular) basin for an one canal. The solution is obtained by using finite difference method. Characteristic behaviours of the solution are illustrated with the help of a numerical example to predict the water table fluctuations.
